we return to peace temple

Sept 5th—8th, 2024

We are honored to share the spirit of sisterhood & sounds of steel again at our 3rd Super Bloom Women’s Handpan Gathering at Peace Temple.

Our women’s Handpan Gathering is a WeeKend for SisteRs of SteeL

Steeped in nature, with the handpan as our guide, we invite women-identifying handpan players, enthusiasts and like minded ladies looking to awaken, explore and expand their divine inner-compass, together for this gathering.

Owning a handpan is not necessary to attend & all skill levels are welcome.

Rest • Relax • Recharge

Integrating time for self-care while navigating the daily flow can be challenging enough! In honoring the need to slow down & gift time to better integrate self-care, we have curated a schedule that leaves room to reset:

Handpan Focused Workshops • Open Mic & Fire Circle Jams • Sound Healing • Soul-Crafts • POnD PlungeS • Commune with Sisters • Explore Ease • Relaxation Enjoy the Land

Featured Facilitators

Amy nayLor

Singer Songwriter • Handpan Player • Creative Practitioner » Amy began playing handpan in 2014 and was first recognised by her unique style and use of loops to reimagine popular songs. Since then she has grown and developed a strong voice in the handpan community, singing modern mantras and songs of her own weaving. Her playing is a subtle blend of intricate patterns and simple, soothing sounds that weave and flow with her voice and lyrics.

Eager to explore the handpan to its full potential, Amy often collaborates with other artists, art forms, and instruments. She is particularly intrigued by the way different environments and connections with different players can inspire a whole new muse and sound - emotion translated to music. Amy is also part of the handpan duo PortaBanda, alongside Rosie Bergonzi. AmyNaylorMusic.com

Sofia Dias

Multi-Instrumentalist • Educator • Performer » Sofia is a multi-instrumentalist living and working in South Florida. Graduated from Miami Dade college in Music Education, Sofia focuses on world percussion and has been involved in various music projects in her community ever since. Sofia works with music in many ways, from performance to education and even therapy. Since 2018 she has held an in-depth practice of the Handpan and has dedicated most of that time studying it in the context of Music Therapy. Sofia has also been a part of Miami’s very own samba percussion community MiamiBloco since 2019, paying respect to her Brazilian heritage. SofiaDiasMusic.com

What They’re Saying

  • Perfect Introduction

Super Bloom 2022 was the first time that I got together with other humans and played handpans. It was the most perfect introduction to playing and everyone was so amazingly welcome and supportive. I got a wave of good energy from Peace Temple that kept me afloat for weeks afterward! — Addi

  • The handpAn is a Muse to RenEw!

Sound healing is present in everything we do. Every interaction. Every sound. Every moment is sonically encased with the ability and invitation to pause or progress healing. I am grateful for how the handpan has brought so many beautiful souls together so we can heal and “Super Bloom” together! — Sarah

  • aLlOw thE MuSIc to FLOw

“My instrument has been an amazing friend and also a great therapist! It never fails to amaze me how all changes the moment I sit and play, allowing the music flow through me, cleansing and clearing all from the day!” — Marina

  • it was an OM-azing experience

I was brand new to handpan and the community, but I couldn't find many groups where I live (Houston, Texas). The Peace Temple was so recharging. The daily workshops, the gatherings around the fire, the open mic for anyone to play, the meals, or just being able to have your one on one time with yourself. I met some beautiful soul sisters that I have stayed connected with since this event and cannot wait to attend the one this year. So grateful for this event. Thank you so much. - Elizabeth

I obtained reiki attunement in 2018 & my first yoga teacher certification in 2021. Early 2022, I attended an Elemental Sound Healing certification training and met a handpan in person for the first time along with 2 lovely ladies, Sarah & Kelly, who invited me to attend the very first SuperBloom gathering. SuperBloom 2022 was such a magical experience that I was beyond thrilled when asked to join as a facilitator for 2023!

As a forever-learner, I love studying yogic philosophy, physics & frequencies, languages & word etymology. I practice healing & maintaining a healthy water-body through living [w]holistically & utilizing the abundant medicine provided to us by the Earth. • ‘22 & ‘23 Organizer, Vocal Coach & Mentor

Marina is one of the founders of the Handpan NYC Community - a place where teachers, artists, and enthusiasts can experience a world of handpan events, workshops, and community gatherings since 2016. From the moment Marina held this instrument for the first time, she didn't want to let it go! She then knew that she will become a lifelong student of this art form. Since then Marina has helped organize various handpan workshops and retreats in NY.

Marina's participation in plant medicine ceremonies has highly influenced her handpan musical journey. She weaves her voice into her compositions, incorporating songs from various traditions and backgrounds.

In 2019 she attended her first Handpan gathering (Reminiscence in NC) and immediately felt a sense of belonging. She met many great handpan friends at this gathering, among them Kelly!

When not involved in Super Bloom, Marina teaches beginners handpan, somatic voice practice and psychedelic/plant medicine integration and harm reduction.

  • Founder, ‘22 & ‘23 Organizer, Musician & Handpan Steward

In 2016, while visiting friends in the Mojave desert, a glowing campfire set the stage for Sarah to be mesmerized by something she had neither seen nor heard before … the handpan. Little did she know that big changes were being initiated. As her inner flames grew brighter and bolder, she was brought back to her first musical loves — the violin and the voice.

Sarah uses her voice as a self-healing tool, alongside playing the handpan, violin, mandolin, RAVvast and frame drum. Having written a few pieces, she aims to share them in 2022. In addition to music, Sarah is also a visual artist — fine art, mixed-media photography & graphic design.
