SARAH PAZ HYDE is a Sound Alchemist, handpan musician, vocalist, calmUNITY organizer and visual artist currently based in Maryland.

Her creative spirit derives from a multicultural upbringing and [w]holistic, spiritual approach to engaging life, fused with a deep-seeded connection to curiosity.

Sarah began her creative journey at the age of 4, with the violin as her first mode of expression. This early initiation cast a lifelong ripple effect in how she explores the world, through her artistry & spirit. Since then, she has evolved through various mediums, embracing photography, mixed media and graphic design, before returning to music and performance art.

In 2016, Sarah Paz Hyde discovered the handpan — an instrument that brought her full circle to her life’s purpose, “aiding others in more deeply connecting their being to balance within the body + mind + spirit.” Because of the handpan, she has been able to visit with and cycle through releasing from her greatest limiting belief…fear.

Sarah believes that through creativity-based explorations, compassionate inquiry and investigation, we can unlocked “inner doors” and glean deeper understandings of our uniqueness in context to our unique life experiences.

This in turn, allows us to transform the poison of patterned, protection into pearls of wisdom, and the embers of our greatest passions. With such, the realization that choosing to embrace our imperfections puts us on a healing path to wholeness. As such, we are able to “See-R-Vices” and become of greater service to global calmUNITY.

“In any moment, one note, rooted in my core,
is enough to break through the void
and resurface my true voice.” – Sarah

Musically, Sarah’s improvisational musings are currently the basis for channeled adult lullabies.

Visually, in Wonder Lost Sarah Paz combines wheat paste and photography to create visual totems. The photo series gypsy sōl nō[w]here represents a travelog of places near and far. In working with analog mediums, both bodies of work become visual reminders to slow down life with all of the senses, making it easier to focus and find the bountiful peaceful pieces strewn about the everyday.

While her younger days were steeped with rich memories of Southern Illinois and the Philippines, in 2020 Sarah relocated to the east coast from the Death Valley region of California. She currently travels between Maryland and Colorado.
